Seller: Weak ruble may raise prices of summer deliveries

MOSCOW, Mar 12 (PRIME) -- Ozon, one of Russia’s largest online stores, does not expect its marketplace prices to jump, but does not rule out that the weak ruble’s pressure on summer or autumn deliveries, a company spokesperson told PRIME on Thursday.

People most often buy daily staples, children’s goods, and homeware on Ozon, which offers several millions of items mainly manufactured by local companies, the spokesperson said.

Some producers can depend on foreign raw materials, but the impact will be delayed.

“For categories most dependent on cross rates, we have stocks at fulfilment centers, we have received many supplies this year in advance. If the rate does not recover, the prices of goods of summer or autumn deliveries depending on items can be influenced, but it’s still early to speak about it,” the spokesperson said.
